The formal system helped the company return to profitability, which was later purchased by a large conglomerate.

Analyzed new software development technologies and methodologies for applicability within ARCO. Implemented Project Management and structured analysis techniques to shorten the development cycle, improve productivity and quality. Prepared and presented seminars for manufacturing executives, focusing on the benefits of formal systems. Organized client and contract personnel to analyze and document their informal systems. Subsequently reviewed commercially available packages to determine the extent of modification that would be needed to meet the user specifications. Documented and secured user approval for the modifications and prepared project management plans to monitor progress.



Group Manager  Management Information Systems.                                      1980-1982 

Promoted to this position from Corporate Manufacturing Systems to direct the conversion of the operating systems and to formalize and improve the Information Systems function for the five divisions. Acted as a liaison between corporate MIS and the five-user division’s upper management. Prepared and secured approval of the departmental budget. Implemented standards and procedures to control inventory ordering for components affected by engineering changes thus reducing the on hand inventory by several million dollars.

Implemented the first commercially available on line manufacturing system to replace a number of home grown informal systems. Prepared specifications and secured approval for a cost accounting system to supplement the commercial package

Electronic Design Engineer Project Leader                                                        1965 –1974.

Designed, developed and put in production several radio products. The first Engineer at Zenith to write computer programs to calculate resonance curves for both AM and FM frequencies in a circuit design using voltage variable capacitor. Was designated as the Engineering representative to participate in the first implementation of Computerized Inventory control and Bill of Material programs.

Responsible for analysis, testing and approval for production use of all new electronic components.
